Hb. Violae Zi Hua Di Ding 15g Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and clears hot sores.
With Ye Ju Hua, for pustules on the fingertips (snakehead furuncles), red thread furuncles (lymphangitis), carbuncles and other red swellings.
Flos Chrysanthemi Indici Ye Ju Hua 15g Drains Fire and resolves toxicity.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 15g Clears Heat (especially in the Upper Jiao), relieves toxicity, reduces abscesses, dissipates clumps and cools Blood Heat.
With Ye Ju Hua, for the initial stage of warm febrile disease.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 15g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin and generates fluids.
With Mu Dan Pi and Chi Shao, for purpura or bleeding with maculae and blotches on the skin.
Rx. Paeoniae Rubra Chi Shao 15g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis,clears Heat, cools the Blood, reduces swelling from sores and abscesses and relieves pain.
With Mu Dan Pi, cools the Blood and disperses Stasis, for Ying Stage Heat with epistaxis, hemoptysis, hemafecia, hematuria, menorrhagia and skin rashes.
With Mu Dan Pi and Sheng Di Huang, for Heat entering the Xue Stage causing maculae or hemorrhage.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 9g Drains Fire, detoxifies, cools the Blood, clears Heat and dries Dampness.
With Chai Hu, for Heat in the Shao Yang with alternating chills and fever and nausea.
Cx. Moutan Mu Dan Pi 9g Clears Heat, cools, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, drains pus and reduces swelling.
With Sheng Di Huang, for Ying and Xue Stage Heat with a high fever, scarlet tongue, thirst and a rash all over the body.
Sm. Citri Reticulatae Ju He 9g Dredges the Liver, promotes the movement of Qi, reduces swellings and disperses clumps.
Fol. Eriobotryae Pi Pa Ye 9g Transforms Phlegm, harmonizes the Stomach, clears Lung and Stomach Heat and descends Lung and Stomach Qi.
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 9g Opens the Lungs, spreads Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, benefits the throat, expels pus and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body.
With Gan Cao, disseminates Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, resolves toxicity, and expels pus.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 6g Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
